Sidney Crosby's leadership, strong two-way play and clutch scoring helped him win his first Conn Smythe trophy as playoff MVP after leading the Pittsburgh Penguins to their second title since he arrived 11 years ago.

Crosby had two assists, including the pass that set up Kris Letang's game winner as Pittsburgh beat the San Jose Sharks 3-1 Sunday night to win the title in six games.

The Pittsburgh Penguins clinched the franchise's fourth Stanley Cup championship with a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 Sunday at SAP Center.

Oliver Bjorkstrand scored with 1.9 seconds left in the first overtime and the Lake Erie Monsters won their first Calder Cup title, beating the Hershey Bears 1-0 on Saturday night to sweep the American Hockey League championship series.

With thousands of fans outside the building ready for the party of a lifetime, Martin Jones shut out the lights. 

"Just unbelievable," San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton said after his goalie's heroic performance in a 4-2, Game 5 victory on Thursday over the Pittsburgh Penguins that extended San Jose's season.

"You know, he's been doing it all year. Just not tonight, he does it every game for us. He's just a stud for us."

Over the next 72 hours, the Penguins will have a chance to reflect on the arrival of the coveted trophy.  And maybe they'll also consider the many steps that led them to this point, including Monday's 3-1 win here over the Sharks in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals.

It was a win that gave them a 3-1 series lead and an opportunity to secure a championship Thursday night (8 ET) in Game 5.

The San Jose Sharks posted a 3-2 overtime win against the Pittsburgh Penguins in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals Saturday night at SAP Center. The Penguins lead this best-of-seven series 2-1, with Game 4 at 8 p.m. ET here on Monday.

The Penguins earned a 2-1 overtime victory over the Sharks in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup finals Wednesday night at Consol Energy Center to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Conor Sheary's goal 2:35 into OT gave the Penguins the victory.
